One of the great Utada ballads. This single was released in early 2002 and was one of two singles released that year for Utada. This was the first Utada song I ever heard. Actually, the PLANITb Remix featured on this CD was the first Utada song I heard. The original version and PLANITb Remix version were both used to promote the game Kingdom Hearts when it was released in Japan and later the United States. For the U.S. commercials they used both Hikari and Simple And Clean, the English version of the song. Simple And Clean was featured on COLORS released in early 2003.

    I've always adored the jacket cover of Hikari simply because it's not your typical waist-up shot of the artist.
