Kumi’s latest single, 4 hot wave, coming at the end of July. It’s classified as a quadruple A-side maxi single, but I think a mini-album would be more appropriate. LOL
as far as i am concerned, the single is not out yet. so it is rather weird that you already have the scans first before you have the actual physical single…
Koda Kumi always has had beautiful cultural covers. I love hers most! But I did wonder the same as WWC, but i’ll enjoy this now and ask questions later…♥
why question it? because this site has been a wonderful source for actual HQ scans from the materials, and this one is not out yet. now tell me, for most of us who have been enjoying a lot of HQ scans from actual materials, isn’t this a bit… unusual? not to flame anyone, but most of us here couldn’t help ourselves from wondering that…
I’m just as surprised as you are. The ever gracious Phuong T. sent them to me and I was wondering how he got such great quality pictures. And so early. I can’t answer for him, so I won’t.
I’m sure they’re not scans in the traditional sense. However, many covers on this site aren’t scans at all, but digital versions. For example, the Large version of Ayumi’s (miss)understood album (http://www.ai-candy.com/archives/missunderstood/) is a digital version I got about a week before the album was released.
I wish I can give you a better explanation or a cool story like, I have a contact at Avex Trax or I know Kumi Koda and she sent them to me, but…Wait! That would be cool. LOL
why the (miss)understood cover is released prior to its release dates is that shops in Japan has already put the album out on sales days before its actual release date as Japan was on holiday and that some have already received their copy of the album on a few days before the actual release date.
please do forgive me if i sound bossy and all, but since usually you have at least scans from the traditional sense and that you even include scans from other parts of the booklet, this one is a bit… weird…
Well, I wouldn’t put up versions that can be found at Amazon or the like on this site. It defeats the purpose.
And the release date thing is true. I know stores jump the release date(s) for many products. Happens all the time.
However, that doesn’t apply to the (miss)understood cover because the version on my site was never scanned. It’s a digital version possibly used for Internet promotion or intended for small print ads. I know because I got it straight from Avex’s site. It was a mistake on their part and I just got lucky. Perhaps the same happened to Phuong T..
I’ll let you on a little secret. It comes to a suprise to me also that I found the covers. They’re not scans but more like the official digital covers. I found it on this all Japanese online store that has some few hi-res covers for some of the recent releases. Its this place “rakuten” or something. You can try to search it on Yahoo, just put in “Rakuten cd jp” and it should be the first thing on the list. click on it and then click on the “CD” tab and that should be the home for the music store.Mostly all the recent releases have HQ covers but the old ones don’t though. Its a little tricky to search for products of the artist because you would have to find their name in Kanji or somethin like that and copy it to the search bar.
Well, there you have it. The mystery is solved. Thank you Phuong.
Although I must say, I’m a little disappointed. That’s sounds remarkably easy. I guess I wish you really were my contact at Avex…or Kumi herself. LOL ^_^ I’m silly.
Anyway, thank you for your hard work and putting an end to this discussion.

I totally agree about the minialbum thing! Have you seen the tracklist? The single has like 3 “interludes”

i do think the covers featured this time is from http://www.amazon.co.jp or from http://www.jbook.co.jp based on the size of it…
